2024 Summer Curriculum, Reading and Math

Each summer at Holy Cross, students in grades 4-12 are assigned summer reading. This assignment is important because it helps students to maintain their reading skills and to prepare for the coming year’s studies.

 

The summer reading lists and assignments are linked here.  Each student should click on the link that indicates his upcoming English course. Please note that there is also a required reading assignment for students taking AP World History.

Students in all grades are also encouraged to participate in their parish library’s summer reading programs. Click the link below to access your parish’s program.

Our primary and middle school students can keep their math skills sharp by practicing every day. Students and parents should click the link to find the packet for the grade level the student will enter in August. Students can complete the work on looseleaf or print the packet and write on it. Teachers will review these skills in the first weeks of school.

Here are the directions to set up an account for his summer math readiness assignment.

8th Grade & New Students:  Go to  https://sara.raydass.com, click on register, student.  The school code is HCHS.  Your son’s HC email address should be first initial, middle initial, last name @holycrosstigers.com.  After creating an account follow these steps to enroll in a course in SARA:

 Returning 9th – 12th Grade Students:  Log into https://sara.raydass.com:

1-    Left side panel needs to be open (click the horizontal lines if it is not open- top left)

2-    Select the little white gear just to the left of the horizontal lines

3-    Select My Classes

4-    Type in [email protected] , click on the "+" sign to the right

5-    Select the course you will be enrolled in for the 24-25 school year

6-    Optional: Delete your old classes (returning students only)

7-    Scroll to bottom and click Continue to Your Courses

As we prepare for another enriching school year at Holy Cross, we want to ensure that our students are fully equipped for the academic challenges that lie ahead. To support this goal, we're excited to introduce our Math Course Readiness program through SARA. 

 

Parents, please have your son login to SARA (www.sara.raydass.com), select the two horizontal lines on the top left, click on the gear, and edit (add) classes, type in this teacher’s email: [email protected]; and select the course that your son will be enrolled in for the 2024-25 school year:

 

  • Math 8 Readiness
  • Algebra 1 Readiness
  • Geometry Readiness
  • Algebra 2 Readiness
  • Algebra 3 Readiness
  • AdvMath/Trig Readiness
  • Calculus Readiness
 

Participation in our Math Course Readiness program is essential for all Holy Cross students.  Students are instructed to complete their respective course by August 1, 2024, to receive full credit.  This will be the students’ first grade in their math course in the fall.
