Holy Cross campus minister and high school theology teacher Mr. Adrian Jackson '00 was commissioned by Archbishop Gregory Aymond as a Lay Ecclesial Minister for the Archdiocese of New Orleans at St. Louis Cathedral.
Mr. Jackson and his cohort underwent two and half years of spiritual direction, graduate courses in theology, retreats, days of formation, and a supervised practicum project.
The Archdiocese of New Orleans offers the opportunity for lay men and women to be formed and commissioned as Lay Ecclesial Ministers to serve in parishes, schools and ministries. The Institute for Lay Ecclesial Ministry is a lay leadership program offered through Notre Dame Seminary. The program consists of both academic coursework in theological studies and a holistic experience of spiritual, human, intellectual, and pastoral formation.
