Don't Forget Your Valentine!

By Mason Carter

Valentine’s Day is rapidly approaching, and the time clock has begun for young men, who have girlfriends, to get them gifts. Although every young man’s girlfriend and or girl friend may be different as far as looks and personality, there is one commonality between them all. That commonality is that all girls love to feel special, and one way to make them feel special is to present them with gifts.

When buying a gift for your girlfriend or girl friend, get the special lady some flowers, candy, a Valentine’s Day card, chocolate covered strawberries. If you’re really fancy, get her a whole bouquet of fruits. If you’re extremely fancy, get her all these things. However, these are the normal types of gifts that guys give their significant other. I recommend giving a girl a gift that she will never forget and this way she will admire you more than any of the other guys that may give her gifts. To make yourself memorable to your significant other on Valentine’s Day, follow these steps and she will never forget you:

First, before school, text her and say, “Good morning, beautiful. Happy Valentine’s Day. I hope you have a great day today. I have a surprise for you!” This will automatically make her feel like someone cares about her and she will be thinking about you all day. Later in the day, you can surprise her after school with a small gift or stop by her house later to present her with a present.

Secondly, to impress your Valentine once more, you can make plans to do something adventurous or relaxing on the Friday after Valentine’s Day. There are a plethora of movies which range from action driven and nostalgic to horror. You could even take her to a nice restaurant. Some restaurants that create an intimate environment may include: Copelands of New Orleans, Mondo, Vincent’s, Austin’s, and Zea Rotisserie and Grill. These are all great ways to compliment and show your appreciation to your significant other on Valentine’s Day,

Furthermore, if you are competing with other fellas for your Valentine, you must think outside of the box. I recommend the following ideas: Take her to Sector 6, a walk along the lake, or take her golfing at City Putt. These are activities could be more memorable than the standard dinner and a movie date night. Senior, Mason Haro, has taken my advice by saying, “Friday, I will probably buy my girlfriend flowers and hang out with her.” Another senior plans to surprise his girlfriend with jewelry and a nice dinner. These Don Juans are truly utilizing the strategies that I have put forth and in turn are making the holiday a memorable one. I overall believe that any one of you can follow my strategies and be successful at gift giving to your Valentine.
