Holy Cross Wrestling Brings Home Four Individual State Champions

The Holy Cross Wrestling team traveled to Shreveport/Bossier City this weekend to compete against 28 Division I teams in the 2019 LHSAA State Wrestling Tournament.  At the end of the first day of competition, the Tigers held a 188.5 point lead over Brother Martin’s 180.5. Holy Cross ended with 12 wrestlers standing on the podium including 4 State Champions-- Senior Caden Mumme (182 lbs), senior Cameron Frost (170 lbs), and freshman twins Evan (106 lbs) and Jacob (113 lbs) Frost. 
 
It should be noted that history was made by the Frost family, as it is the first time in LHSAA wrestling history for three brothers to stand on the top of the podium in the same year.  The team finished second with 306.5 to Brother Martin’s 331.5 points.  Jesuit scored 184.5 points. 
 
Finishing their season on the podium are 106 lbs Evan Frost – STATE CHAMP, 113 lbs Jacob Frost – STATE CHAMP, 120 lbs Dylan Lauriano – 6th, 126 lbs Michael Lundin – 3rd, 132 lbs Caruso Signorelli – 3rd, 138 lbs Logan LaCoste – 3rd, 145 lbs Jake Romig – 6th, 152 lbs Brady Butler – 3rd, 160 lbs Mason Macaluso – 3rd, 170 lbs Cameron Frost – STATE CHAMP, 182 lbs Caden Mumme – STATE CHAMP, 220 lbs Ryan Doody – 3rd.
