As part of our student spotlight articles, we went on a search for middle schoolers who were willing to talk with us and wanted to introduce themselves to the school. We stumbled upon one student from Mrs. Hooper's science class who jumped at the chance to kick it with a few of our senior staff writers during B period.
Meet, Caleb! Caleb Bye is in his first year at Holy Cross as a fifth grader. All of Caleb’s friends call him by his last name, “Bye”. Caleb plays football and baseball. He loves watching baseball and his dream is to play professionally in the MLB for his favorite team, the Chicago Cubs. He hopes to attend college at Notre Dame or LSU. Caleb’s favorite subject is Social Studies, while his least favorite is Math. Caleb enjoys eating in the cafeteria. When asked if he could eat lunch with any teacher in the school, Caleb said he would want to eat with Mr. Hanemann because of the buzzer beater he made during the most recent pep rally for Holy Cross’ basketball team. Caleb’s favorite movie is Deadpool and on the weekends likes to catch up on sleep. When asked why he came to Holy Cross, Caleb said he had heard how nice and accepting everyone is; when he started here, he immediately felt welcomed and loved. Caleb intends to stay at Holy Cross throughout high school and hopes to become a Holy Cross Man. Welcome to the family, Caleb!
