Red Dead Redemption 2 Online Beta

It has been a month since the release of the game of the year contender Red Dead Redemption 2 Online(RD2O), and with this comes the multiplayer beta. Like all Rockstar titles, it will be using the same map from the story just like they did in GTA V online which was a previous title made by Rockstar. I have played through about 3 hours of the main story in RD2O, and I have enjoyed it deeply. The game still looks as great as it did in single player, but they have lowered the render distance, I felt by covering far views with fog. Another thing I love is that they have unlocked interiors from the story for you to explore with your friends, like the mayor’s mansion in Saint-Denis. Just like in the story for red dead, you will get lost in the huge world doing side quests, free roam events, playing with friends, and hunting.

The RD2O has much to offer, and it’s only the beta, which is usually just something game makers do to test their servers. This beta has not shown its full potential yet, but this is still a beta, and when the finalized project gets released there will be major improvements. The only problem I have found is that it is a real struggle to get money. For example, the top tier pistol is 1,000 dollars which is as much as the best horse in the game in story mode. In the story, you could rob stores, trains, stagecoaches, and any NPC you found. Sadly, none of this is available in the beta, and I hope when they fully release the game they will bring back some of the ways to make money. If you want to make money, I found that killing birds and anything else you find in the swamps outside of Saint-Denis can net you about 30-40$ every 10-15 minutes. I also can make about 10 dollars every 5 minutes killing sheep inside of Valentine and selling them to the butcher, but if the sheriff sees you, you will be wanted by the law. One aspect that I strongly dislike is when you join back into online, you don’t respawn where you left you to respawn around where you were. I also don’t like how you must pay to make a permanent posse. If the fine was 50$, it would be understandable, but 200$ is a little bit ridiculous.
