Holy Cross and Dominican hosted a cross country meet this past weekend at the City Park course, which drew participants from around the state. Local schools in attendance included St. Pius, St. Dominic, Brother Martin, and Holy Name of Jesus, and others, but E.D. White, Belle Chasse, and Boyet Junior High also showed up to compete.
In the Varsity Boys race, Holy Cross finished second overall with 69 points. Top five individual finishers for the Tigers were Cade Martin in 2nd, Josh Raiford in 4th, Lyric Lee in 9th, Everett Planchet in 29th, and Tharon Blanchard in 37th.
For Junior High, 8th grader Colin Volpe was the individual champion of his race, with Aiden DeFrates in 17th, Casey Seput in 33rd, and William Constant in 39th.
On the Middle School side, 7th grader Gage Baldassaro was 6th place overall, Landon Davis was 20th, Dominic Pellegrin was 22nd, Alexander Walser was 34th, Alec Lanning was 77th, and Jacob Labit was 86th. Our Middle School Tigers finished 5th in their meet with 131 points.
