Earth Day Art Contest Winners Recognized

Last spring, Holy Cross School began a full campus recycling program, and kicked it off with an Earth Day Art Contest. Service to community and to each other is at the heart of the mission at Holy Cross, and increasing awareness of the need for conservation and stewardship of our planet for each other and generations to come is vitally important to the making of a Holy Cross Man.

Students were asked to create a work of visual art using only repurposed items, in other words--trash. Seven students were recognized at the Academic Awards held August 23, for winning first place for the high school, middle school, and primary school divisions.

Congratulations to juniors Bryan Broussard, Christian Guerra, Scott Staehle and Dominic Messina; eighth grader Ivan Ivanov; and fifth graders Andrew Launey and Michael Taylor.
