In the spirit of servant leadership, Holy Cross faculty and staff gave of their time on Holy Thursday to give back to the community through a day of service with several organizations.
One team of volunteers visited Magnolia Community Center, where they had an opportunity to tour the facility, learn about the programs they offer, and spend time visiting with clients and spreading cheer. Another team visited Vista Shores senior center, where they sang and decorated Easter eggs with the residents.
Two other teams visited the Salvation Army and Covenant House, where they did some cleaning and painting of their facilities. And one team spent their morning at Holy Cross School setting up recycling bins and doing some spring cleaning around campus.
The group started off the day with a prayer service and returned to campus after a day of volunteering to reflect on their experiences working with these organizations. It was truly a meaningful opportunity for our faculty and staff to give back and to be role models of servant leadership.
Following the day of service, our faculty and staff were treated to a crawfish appreciation lunch.
