Holy Cross Announces Harry Mason as Associate Head Coach of the Varsity Soccer Program

New Orleans, LA - Holy Cross is proud to welcome Harry Mason as the newest Associate Head Coach of the Varsity Soccer Program. With a robust background in both coaching and playing soccer, Mason brings extensive experience to the team.

Stuart Hayers, Director of Soccer, expressed his excitement: “I am thrilled to have secured a coach, and person, of Harry’s caliber. Although he has big shoes to fill, I am confident Harry will be a tremendous asset to the Holy Cross family.”

Mason's coaching credentials are impressive, having previously been part of the coaching staff for the NAIA powerhouse Lindsey Wilson College (KY) from 2016-2017. In his first season, he helped lead the Blue Raiders to a 13-4-2 record and a share of the Mid-South Conference regular season title. Under his guidance, the team produced two NAIA All-American honorees, the MSC Player of the Year, and seven All-MSC selections. His second season saw even more success, with a 14-4-0 record and an undefeated run (7-0-0) in the Mid-South Conference. Mason's leadership helped produce two more NAIA All-Americans, the MSC Player of the Year, and eight all-conference selections, including five first-team honorees.

More recently, Mason served as head coach and Athletic Director at Ursuline Academy, where he led the Lions to a stellar 14-0-4 record and a second-round playoff appearance, their first in nine years.

Before stepping into coaching, Mason had an outstanding collegiate career at Cumberland University (TN) from 2010-2014. He earned Second Team TranSouth honors as a sophomore and First Team All Mid-South Conference accolades as a junior and senior, amassing 57 goals and 19 assists in 71 games, making him one of the top goal scorers in the school's history.

Mason holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Cumberland University and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Health Promotion from St. Catharine College. Originally from Birmingham, UK, Mason honed his skills in the English Academy system before continuing his career in the United States.

Reflecting on his new role, Mason said, “I am looking forward to working with such an exciting team. I can’t wait to bring my knowledge and experience to Holy Cross Soccer.”

Mason currently coaches at the Louisiana Fire Soccer Club and is a respected figure in the Louisiana soccer community. He and his wife, Madeline, are proud parents to their 3-month-old son, Oliver.

As the defending State Champions, Holy Cross is poised for another strong season and will seek to capture its 6th State Championship in eight years. The Tigers' season opener is set for November 12th at Yenni Stadium against Haynes Academy.
