For a $5 donation, all students will be allowed to take part in a special “Dress Down Day” for Halloween! Donations will be collected during the first period on Tuesday, October 31. All money raised will go to Breast Cancer Awareness cause since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Grades PK-4
Students in grades PK-4 will be allowed to wear jeans, tennis shoes, and either a Halloween or Holy Cross shirt in place of their regular school uniform.
Grades 5-12
Students in grades 5-12 will be allowed to wear jeans, tennis shoes, and a Holy Cross shirt in place of their regular school uniform.
- After their lunch period and during all afternoon activities, students (5th-12th) will be allowed to wear Halloween costumes through the end of the day. If a costume is deemed inappropriate, the student will be referred to the Dean of Men and will have to change back into his school uniform or dress down day attire.
Guidelines for Dress Down Attire (PK-12)
- Jeans must always be worn on the waist and be free of tears, rips, and holes.
- Tennis shoes must be able to be tied. Sandals, Crocs (or similar slide-on shoes), and any other open-toed footwear are prohibited.
- Any political references or other references contrary to the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church are prohibited.
- No hats, sunglasses, or other accessories will be permitted.
Guidelines for Costumes (5-12)
*Students in grades PK-4 will wear a Halloween or Holy Cross shirt.
- There will be a costume contest during lunch with prizes for the best costume, so come dressed out in your favorite, best, spookiest costume!!
- Costumes are only allowed to be worn during and following a student’s lunch period.
- The following items are prohibited:
- Face paint, masks, or other costumes that obscure the face. Masks will only be allowed during the costume contest.
- Weapons or accessories that resemble weapons.
- Any political references or other references contrary to the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
The administration holds the right to reject a student’s costume based on the above guidelines. If you are uncertain about the appropriateness of your costume, don’t wear it.
Our older students will be hosting a trunk or treat for the tiny tigers. Help them fill their trunks by donating peanut-free candy and toys to either the middle school or high school office.
