NEW ORLEANS – Crescent City Sports’ live streaming coverage of high school football continues with a huge District 9-5A matchup between Holy Cross and Edna Karr Friday night.
Coverage from Morris F.X. Jeff Sr. Stadium in Algiers will begin just prior to the 7 p.m. kickoff. Lenny Vangilder and Wayde Keiser will describe the action.
Friday’s game matches the top two teams in the 9-5A standings, and the winner will be in control of its destiny to win a Catholic League title.
Karr (6-0, 3-0), which has beaten its opponents by an average of 27 points per game, is second in the Crescent City Sports Class 5A top 10 and sixth in the latest Division I select power rankings as compiled by GeauxPreps.com
Holy Cross (6-1, 3-1) is the highest-ranked Catholic League team in the power rankings at No. 2 and sits eighth in the CCS 5A top 10. The Tigers opened the season with six straight wins before losing 22-19 to Brother Martin last Friday night.
The Cougars defeated the Tigers 54-7 in the teams’ first meeting as district opponents last season at Tad Gormley Stadium. In their last meeting in Algiers, Karr defeated Holy Cross 28-16 in a Class 4A semifinal in 2012.
