An Open Letter of Appreciation to Mrs. G

Dear Mrs. G,

Thank you for being the teacher that always pushes her students and holds them to the highest standard. The two years that I have had you as my teacher in English and in Journalism, I have learned so much, not just in literature but in life. Many of the lessons I have learned in reading while in your class have helped me in real life. The wisdom you share with us about how to study for tests and how to prepare for exams will always stay with us especially throughout college. Because of you and your class, I feel confident going into college when it comes to writing. I think everyone who has ever had you as a teacher can agree with me on that.

Also, you always hold us accountable for actions no matter how small the action may have been. You are more than just a teacher to me; you are a mentor and a role model. I strive to have that mental state to never give up on others like you do. The patience and discipline you have every day to deal with our craziness is something I strive to have one day. As disciplined as you can be you still always seem to make class fun and entertaining, getting everyone involved as much as possible. You always give everyone opportunities, whether extra credit or academic lab sessions, to learn and improve, which I would like to say, saved me my junior year from failing your class. So, thank you very much, Mrs. G, for the many opportunities and chances to improve. You are always there to help your students no matter how simple or complicated the problem may be.  And, even though you were on maternity leave for several months last year, you still impacted all of our lives. I hope you enjoy reading this letter as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Thank you,
