Holy Cross School Class of 1969 Presents Scholarship to Three Holy Cross Students for the 2020-2021 School Year

On September 20, 2020, the Holy Cross School Class of 1969 presented scholarships to three Holy Cross Students to put towards their Holy Cross School tuition for the 2020-2021 school year.

The Class of 1969 established a scholarship endowment in 2011 in anticipation of their 50-year class reunion and golden diploma ceremony which took place in 2019. This scholarship honors a legacy student(s) or a student(s) who is the son or grandson of a first responder.

Legacy students receiving this scholarship are Harrison and Dominic Pellegrin. The Pellegrin brothers are the grandsons of Mr. Lawrence Pellegrin who graduated from Holy Cross School in 1969.

Jalen Johnson is also a recipient as the son of a first responder. Johnson’s father has served 23 years of service to the community as a New Orleans Police Officer. His work as a Narcotic Detective, Task Force Officer and Senior Patrol Officer is something to be admired. His role as a School Resource Officer and volunteering with different youth organizations further supports the Class of ‘69’s decision to award Jalen this scholarship.

The Holy Cross School Class of 1969 has answered the call of Father Moreau by carrying out the Mission with their endowment, that not only helps make a difference in the lives of young men, but also serves in perpetuity as a tribute to their class and brotherhood.
