Bringing Hope

There are 4 themes for the Holy Cross family, and they are: Bringing Hope, Building Respect, Being Family, and Educating Hearts and Minds. Every year it rotates, but the seniors are lucky to have this particular theme this year, Bringing Hope. Bringing Hope has been a significant idea dating as far back as when the brothers built Holy Cross in 1849. Bringing hope can mean many different things to many different people. When interviewing Junior Jalen Johnson, he said, “Bringing Hope means being able to do what I have to do to make sure I succeed and make my people proud and also making people around me better.” That’s a simple definition in his opinion. The students have several reminders around school about this year’s theme. Student Council hung banners, posted pictures, and even made posters so the students would get the idea of the theme and try to apply it to every school day. They even went as far as getting the entire high school t-shirts that have the theme on them that they can wear every Tuesday. When asked about what Bringing Hope means to Coach Stuart Hayers, he said  “It is the opportunity to make sure every one of our young men are able to make it out of Holy Cross with an opportunity to do a little bit better, whether it be in a vocation, career, or playing sports -- anything that is going to make them a better member of society.” Bringing Hope is to never give up and if you want something you are able to be motivated to accomplish what you wanted. We here at The Bulletin encourage everyone to do their part as part of the family and share hope with those around us. We are HC!
