The summer of 2019 has come to an end, and with that comes a new school year. Every year brings new faces to Holy Cross, and I was given the task to interview a few of them and learn about what they want to do at Holy Cross.
The 5th grade is usually the biggest source of new students and Gabriel Schilly is one of them. Schilly is already involved in Track and Field even though he says it’s exhausting trying to get from class to class. Schilly added on that his favorite class is STEM because he likes to watch Eddy the lizard in his cage and learn about online safety. Schilly hopes to gain a great education in his years at Holy Cross.
8th grade brings in a large quantity of fresh faces as well. Kameron Callahan is a new 8th grade student who is also an HC legacy. Callahan is an all-honors student who plays in Pit-Percussion in the Tiger Band, which means he is going to see all the football games and get a taste of Holy Cross school spirit. Callahan describes Holy Cross to be about family, fun, and faith.
Upper grade levels bring in a few students every year; this year, we had two new students enter the 11th grade. Landin Dodd is one of them who has expressed interest in getting involved with Beach Volleyball and Powerlifting. Dodd says he likes the new environment Holy Cross offers and the friendly faces that come with it. Dodd wants to get to know the community of Holy Cross and gain more as a person than he did from his previous school.
We would like to welcome all the new students to Holy Cross, and we hope they achieve the goals they have set. Welcome to the family, Tigers!
