Holy Cross is built on strong tradition, one that is often passed down through family. Many students come to Holy Cross because of family and wish to continue their Holy Cross legacy. Some students are lucky enough to attend school with their brother and experience the entirety of the family value Holy Cross exuberates. There are many students at Holy Cross who currently have a brother attending school here. Personally, having a brother at school with me enhances my Holy Cross experience. I appreciate the journey from Boys to Men in a new perspective and with more gratitude because I can play a part in the molding and shaping of my little brother into a Holy Cross Man. When asked about what it means to have a brother at Holy Cross, 6th grader Arden Vidal responded, “It’s easier to socialize with other students. It’s easier to make friends because more people know me”. I’m a senior and my brother is in his first year at Holy Cross in the 6th grade. Watching my friends and I interact on campus, my brother can experience a glimpse of being a senior at Holy Cross. He has multiple people to look up to that he personally knows and is currently in school with him.
To get a different perspective on having a brother here I asked senior Ethan Garvey, what it means to him to have a little brother on campus with him. “It matters a lot to me because I’m leaving a legacy that my brother can continue, and he can carry our name and further that legacy”. Holy Cross was founded upon strong family values and tradition with an aim of educating heart and mind, body and soul to be passed down through generations. The experience is only enhanced when experiencing it together with family.
