Will You Go to Prom with Me?

By Michael Englade

Prom is a very stressful time of year from the right outfit to the right prom date. But what really adds to the stress is the right way to ask that right girl. The only way to go about it is to ask them in person and get creative with your methods. Asking someone over text or asking multiple girls in case one of them doesn’t respond favorably is definitely not the way to go about a prom-posal. The only surefire way to get a date is to be likeable from the start. If you ask someone you hardly know if they want to go to prom, you’re most likely going to be denied. What I mean here is to get a good date for Prom, someone who won’t stand by their friends awkwardly for the whole dance, you need to build up a relationship with the person you plan on asking. Obviously make sure they don’t hate you before you spring the big question on them. That would make for an awkward exchange.

The most important thing in asking someone to prom is making sure you know what they like. If the girl is always on social media and posts every meal, make sure you go over the top with a creative design, so she can show off to all her friends via social media. But on the other hand, if you’re planning on asking a more reserved and quieter date to prom, doing a public display of affection may not go over so well, as they might see it as embarrassing or humiliating. The key to remember when asking someone to prom is to make sure you know what they like and dislike. Make sure to ask your date in a way that they’ll respond positively to and that they will love.

Sticking to these basic fundamentals won’t steer any student in the wrong direction. Why put any added stress on yourself during prom season? Ask that one right girl, after you’ve done your research, of course, and enjoy the ride from there.
