Holy Cross Weather - Forecasts by Dylan Federico '13

Quiet Weather on the way!
All the bad weather has moved out of the area and we will once again go into a quiet period of weather stating tomorrow. Today, drier air will move into the area thanks to a west wind and this will cause our temperatures to skyrocket to near 80 degrees this afternoon, especially on the N-Shore. Tonight the large Upper Level Low to our North will pass us up, however, another upper level disturbance will move in tonight. This disturbance will trigger the chance for an isolated shower or thunderstorm tonight on the S-shore, the N-Shore could even possibly see a strong to severe thunderstorm. Once the disturbance passes us around Mid-Night we will go into NW Flow and cooler and drier air will advect into the area. This will knock off a couple degrees from our Highs and Lows starting Friday(Highs 60’s Low’s 40’s) and this means we will go back into Below Normal territory, which we are already become very familiar with this past winter. Northwest Flow will persist into this weekend and this will subsequently keep our weather nice through this weekend and continuing on into Monday and Tuesday.

On Wednesday our winds will shift more Southerly as a new disturbance in the southern Jet stream approaches our area. This system will be our next rain maker, however, this is quite far out and there is a lot of disagreement between the guidance. We will check up on this system in a day or two when there is better consensus.

PS. Daylight Savings Time is this weekend so remember to spring your clocks forward one hour Saturday Night before you go to bed!
